"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
1 Thessalonians 5:18
I'm grateful that there's not a giant pumpkin on the roof of my car! Because I'd probably forget and go through the drive thru and that would be very messy.
This photo made me laugh, so I just had to share. And it sparked a fun idea.
To mix it up from the blessings we're grateful for, let's share a 'silver lining' kind of gratitude. While being respectful of the wondrous blessings God has given us, why not have some fun with the silly things we don't have to endure.
I'll begin...
I'm grateful to be in my sixties because there's less pressure to wear skinny jeans--especially after Thanksgiving dinner and sampling all the pies!
I"m grateful my yard is full of leaves (so messy!) because it means we have four big magnolia trees and our grandson loves collecting the leaves and seed pods.
I'm grateful I'm not wealthy because my mom always told me, "All rich people do is worry about losing their money."
Sour grapes, but so true!
For anyone who does not know what sour grapes refers to (my daughter-in-law never heard of this!), read Aesop's Fable of the Fox and Sour Grapes HERE.
In all seriousness, I am grateful for faith, family, and friends. I'm grateful for our amazing Lord and all He has done for me [salvation!] and how He continues to bless me and my family.
And so many other things! A wonderful 'new' 75-year-old home, finishing renovations and moving into our new bedroom, bathroom, and office, and family coming for Thanksgiving from near and far. (Happy Dance!)
Just for fun, do you have silver lining or sour grapes gratitude you would like to share?
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW!
"Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom [God's] that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,"
Hebrews 12:28 ESV
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you, Dianne, for sharing with us.
A parenting class taught me that there are four reasons for people’s misbehavior: they want attention, they want power, they’ve been deeply hurt and want revenge, or … they’ve just given up and are passive. It’s good to guess which of the four reasons is driving the “goat.”
Then you adjust YOUR strategy to manage their misbehavior.
If it’s inappropriate attention-getting behavior, you can tell them that you must deny attention until they request it properly. If it’s inappropriate power-seeking, you offer choices, or enforce a healthy boundary. If it’s revenge, you can protect yourself and perhaps get to the bottom of the hurt so it may be healed. And as for passivity, you encourage the person and note th…
I am thankful for a Christian author that doesn't mind responding to my emails. I am grateful for God because He has forgiven me for my sins. I am grateful for my family that I know I receive love from them. I am grateful for my kitties as they comfort me when I am not feeling well.
I'm grateful for crumbs left on the back seat of our car because that means Rowan and Eden have been riding with us. They always have a snack when we travel. Happy Thanksgiving! :-)
I'm grateful I have the cold/flu so I can rest.
