Ever Feel Unwanted?

All of us feel unwanted at some point in our lives. Whether it's the invitation that doesn't come, the call that's never answered, or the loneliness that won't go away.

Be encouraged, dear friends, for each one of us is WANTED by our creator.

"God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure."

Ephesians 1:5 NLT

But the humans living around us may not be displaying God's perfect will.

Although human behavior has no bearing on God's feelings or purpose for us, rejection by those close to us hurts.

That's what my latest novel is about.

UNWANTED is the title. And today I'm sharing a SNEAK PEEK!

Here's the beginning...

“Who would leave a baby on a doorstep?”

Zoe Jaysen recoiled at her mother’s incredulous words as if hearing them for the first time.

The words she’d heard all her life rushed through her ears and percolated into her brain like hot lava scorching a path to her psyche, igniting old wounds with fresh ferocity.

Who indeed?

Her birth mother? Birth father? A disapproving grandparent?

With trembling hands, Zoe pulled the cloth napkin from her lap to dab a trickle of sweat from her brow. She squirmed as perspiration gathered between the backs of her thighs and the padded leather booth, although the September weather was cooler than usual in balmy South Carolina and the restaurant’s climate controls worked perfectly.

Zoe glanced at her menopausal mother and aunt – not a hot flash in sight – although Aunt Lena looked annoyed with Momma’s retelling of the story.

In the story, Zoe is indeed unwanted. She's an unwanted baby from an unplanned pregnancy. She grows up knowing she was abandoned on a doorstep shortly after her birth.

Now there's the making of an inferiority complex. While Zoe is adopted by a loving mother, she often feels the sting of rejection. Life takes her on a tumultuous path with painful twists and unexpected turns.

Yet I assure you this: God loves her, no matter what she goes through.

And there's a happy ending. ALWAYS a happy ending. No tormented tragic endings for me!

Most of you know my heart for babies and women in unplanned pregnancy. This story reflects those sentiments and God's love for each one of us - no matter what we've done or how people have treated us.

The book is completed and I'm oh-so-eager to share it with y'all. I'm currently submitting it to literary agents with hopes of landing a publishing contract soon.

Here's where you can help. Please pray! I'm praying for God to lead me to an agent who will share my heart for this story and have the connections to get it published with a major publishing house. This story would also make a great movie. God has the power to do all of that, and this is my prayer.

Thank you in advance for your support and prayers!

With our prayers, and God's mighty hand of favor, this redemptive message could make a difference in the lives of hurting people who feel unwanted.

"I looked forward to your calling me 'Father,' and I wanted you never to turn from me."

Jeremiah 3:19b

Dear friend, you are valuable and wanted!

God's blessings to you,

Dianne
