Last month, I recognized Mother's Day, and while I write WOMEN'S fiction, I wanted to recognize Father's Day also.

My own father passed away 30 years ago this year. My dad endured many struggles in life which led to a difficult childhood for me. So many of us have "daddy issues."

Long before my dad passed away, I chose to forgive him. I recognized the wounded little boy under all that bravado. Despite his faults, he was my dad and I loved him. I'm eternally grateful God allowed me to witness his Come-to-Jesus moment on his death bed. :)

Some fathers are loving heroes, while others carry wounds that impact their ability to show love. No dad is perfect, and every father needs grace.

Let's honor and celebrate the fathers around us— those who inspire, those who persevere, those who struggle, and those who live in our memories.

Through every story—joyful or painful—we can trust our HEAVENLY FATHER to work all things together for GOOD.

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."

Romans 8:28 NLT
