Do you feel lucky?Haha! Anyone of a certain age (ahem) remembers that famous Clint Eastwood line from Dirty Harry.Being Friday the 13th, do you feel lucky today?Next week is St. Patrick's Day with celebrations of lucky leprechauns and pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. But the true story of St. Patrick involves his kidnapping and enslavement in Ireland, his deep conversion to Christianity during that time, his miraculous escape, (lucky or God-ordained?) and his eventual return to Ireland as a missionary to bring Christianity to the Irish people. He used a shamrock to symbolize the trinity.Much like Joseph in the Old Testament, St. Patrick endured extreme hardship and slavery, then repaid his abusers by helping them. What an incredible testimony, but hardly lucky.I feel lucky (blessed!) that our Holy Father, Son, and Holy Spirit blesses us with life and breath and when we trust in Him, eternal salvation. While I've endured my share of hardships, I've also been blessed beyond measure. So, back to my question. Do YOU feel lucky?COMMENT below and share why. Or why not! |
