Honor

"Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained."

I Samuel 2:30b

Today we honor those who have served our nation, protected our freedom, and sacrificed much for the greater good.

To every veteran and active military service man and woman, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your willingness to risk yourself to protect us.

Thank you. We appreciate you so very much.

May we also remember to honor our Lord always and in all things. It is the LORD who provides strength, courage, and wisdom. The Lord grants all power to serve and protect.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me."

I Corinthians 15:10

While honoring and appreciating our veterans, may we also honor the source of their strength, their success, and their very being.

"The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace."

Psalm 29:11
